Het eenvoudige bolvlottermechanisme heeft geen elektriciteit nodig. De Armstrong 1-AVC voert alleen automatisch af wanneer lucht of gas aanwezig is. Hierdoor gaat geen vloeistof verloren zoals bij handmatig ontluchten.
